PLACEMAKING
Baan BK is a residential project rooted in the spatial articulation of Feng Shui principles, aiming to foster prosperity, balance, and well-being through an Feng Shui integrated approach to landscape and architecture space planning.
The entry sequence is designed as a transitional garden, defined by a series of stepping platforms—framing movement, slowing the pace of arrival, and establishing a contemplative threshold into the home.
A collection of large planters filled with irregular oxidized slate slabs introduces the symbolic presence of the fire element, believed within Feng Shui to stimulate vitality and fortune. These material insertions are paired with structured layers of ornamental shrubs and small trees that form a textured vegetative edge, enriching the spatial rhythm and enhancing the sensory experience of approach.
A mature เสม็ดแดง (Melaleuca cajuputi) anchors the entry composition, providing human scale and vertical softness against the heroic proportion of the main architectural doorway. This spatial gesture mediates between monumental and intimate, offering both balance and legibility at the threshold.
Situated to the east of the house in alignment with Feng Shui’s water element principles, the swimming pool is rendered as a crisp rectilinear form. Beneath its surface, a series of submerged elements—stepping pads, integrated seating, and shallow lounging zones—introduce a dynamic underwater geometry. These features promote multiple modalities of use and contribute to the spatial richness of the aquatic environment, reinforcing the pool as both a visual and social centerpiece within the landscape.
The pool geometrical clarity is juxtaposed against a bosque of เสม็ดแดง, which acts as both a visual anchor and a soft enclosure. This grove of trees is strategically positioned to enhance privacy, creating a filtered green buffer that screens views into the pool area without compromising light or airflow.
